The Villa Park/Lombard PTA Council is excited to sponsor our 19th Annual Just For Fun 5K Run in memory of Bonnie Scahill, a former PE teacher in District 45. Students, teachers, and their families are invited to lace up their shoes, hit the Prairie Path, and join us for a fun community event! We hope you will also encourage your friends, family, and other community members to participate in this year’s run.Date: Saturday, September 19, 2026
Schedule:
7:00-7:45 am: Race day registration and packet pick-up
8:00 am: Group pictures by school
8:30 am: 5K Start Time
9:30 am: 1 Mile Kids Fun Run (Kindergarten-5th Grade only)
Location: Villa Park Gazebo on the Prairie Path at Central & Ardmore Avenues
Early Registration: 5K: Adults (+18) $25 Kids $20 | 1 Mile - $15
Registration (After increase): 5K: Adults (+18) $30 Kids $25 | 1 Mile - $20
Race Day Registration Fee (Includes T-shirt if available): 5K -Adults $35, Kids $30 1 Mile Kids Fun Run - $25
Register before August 1st to receive the early registration fees.
All prices increase by $5 on August 1st.
T-shirts are only guaranteed for registrations by August 31st.
**Award for top 20 finishers in 5K**
Participants who register by Monday, August 31st, will receive a bag containing items from local businesses, a race-day schedule & map, and a race t-shirt. The race bags will also contain the runner’s bib number, which should be worn on race day. Race bags will be delivered to the school and sent home with each child. The top 20 - 5K finishers will be recognized during an awards ceremony before the 1-Mile Kids Run.
Please consider participating in the 18th Annual Just For Fun 5K Run, even if you are not running. In addition to running, participants can visit booths from local businesses, enjoy healthy post-race snacks, and listen to music.
*** Compete with other schools, teams, and classrooms! The top school, teachers, and classrooms with the highest registrations will receive prizes***
The funds raised by this event go directly back to our students and will be distributed to the PTAs to help enhance their programs. This is a wonderful event to support health and wellness in our community. To be part of this spectacular event,
