The wheel turns and we reach this time of second harvest. The hedgerows are heavy with fruit and we greatfully gather in nature's bounty as we prepare for the darkening days ahead. It's a time of heightened anticipation, as we at once witness the abundance available to harvest, whilst delicately poised as the scales now at a point of balance, ready to descend into the darkness. It's a great time for creativity as we gather, preserve and make ready. Although we are busy gathering and in preparation, there is also a silent invitation on offer to start slowing down, to go inward toward hibernation. The last weeks have seen a sudden but stark departure from the sunny days of Summer, and Autumn has made herself known.We will gather at Glendruid Dolmen at 6.30 for our ceremony.
Please dress warmly and bring along something to share for our picnic after. If anyone in the community would like to bring a Swedish torch along or some firewood we have a fire pit at the site. Poetry, songs and stories are always welcome following our ceremony.
It happens to be culture night, what better way than to celebrate our culture than with our friendly neighbourhood Dolmen!
