About this Event

The 3:15pm concert will be performed by the Cygnus Argenteus Consort, an ensemble of fretted, bowed string instruments that were popular during the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Consort members are Marie Szuts, Tobi Szuts, David Miller, Erik Andersen, and Elisabeth Reed.
The 4:00pm Choral Evensong with the St. Luke’s Choir, directed by Dr. Joy-Leilani Garbutt, will offer music by William Byrd and Orlando Gibbons, two of the most celebrated English composers during the late Renaissance and early Baroque eras. Gibbons, a brilliant younger contemporary of the influential Byrd, learned from his example and together they represent the pinnacle of English Renaissance music and the transition to the Baroque era.
A festive reception will follow Evensong and all are welcome.
