Cybercrime Protection Workshop

Cybercrime is one of the fastest-growing risks facing businesses of all sizes, from sole traders to established SMEs. This practical and interactive workshop has been designed to help local businesses understand cyber threats and learn simple, effective ways to stay protected.

Delivered by cybercrime specialists from the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU), working alongside Thames Valley Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC),, the session will provide expert insight into how cyber criminals target businesses and the steps organisations can take to reduce their risk.

During the workshop, attendees will explore real-life scenarios, learn about common cyber threats such as phishing, account compromise and data breaches, and receive practical tools and guidance to help strengthen online security, protect customer data and reduce the risk of financial or operational disruption.

The session is suitable for both sole traders and small businesses. Practical activities will be included, with guidance tailored to different business types to ensure the advice is relevant and immediately useful. Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop or device if possible to take part in the interactive elements.

The workshop will take place in the theatre space at Lock29 on Friday 13 March, running from 10:00am to 11:30am. Tea, coffee and pastries will be available on arrival.

This event is open to all local businesses. Spaces are limited, and registration is required.
