About this Event
Come and join us, to hear from 3 excellent speakers on the topic of cyber security and the steps you can put in place to help protect your business.
Charlie Bamber
Charlie Bamber is a Police Officer at Lancashire Constabulary, where he works as one of the Force’s dedicated Cyber Protect/Prevent Officers.
Passionate about all things Cyber, Charlie draws on previous experience in ICT and specialist training provided as part of his role to provide small and medium businesses across Lancashire with vital Cyber Security advice to stop them becoming victims of a Cyber-attack.
54% of businesses suffered a Cyber-attack in 2023 and in the same year Cyber-attacks cost victims £2.5bn, yet only 14% of organisations train their staff in Cyber Security and only 20% of organisations have tested their responses to an attack.
With Phishing, Ransomware, and impersonation being the greatest risks to your business, Charlie will talk about the basics on how to keep your business and data secure, including – how to create a strong password, using 2 factor authentication, the importance of software updates, anti-virus software, backing up your data, public Wi-Fi risks and considerations, and signposting to effective further support.
Paul Benson
Paul Benson, Client Relations Manager from the Northwest Cyber Resilience Centre, will highlight the most common cyber security threats and trends that impact businesses and discuss the range of support, tools, and guidance available to them.
Attendees will receive a free one-year NWCRC membership worth £500 under the Lancashire Cyber Support programme, which is funded by Lancashire Constabulary and the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office.
Roger Hussey
Roger is a Fraud Safeguarding Officer at Lancashire Constabulary, where he provides early identification of vulnerable victims of fraud and coordinates appropriate intervention. Roger has worked in Lancashire Constabulary for nine months, after transitioning from a successful career in retail banking as a Branch Director for 19 years.
