Staying safe online and recognizing scams in today’s ever-changing cyber world is difficult.
Peter White Public Library is working in partnership with the UPCI to bring the Marquette community authoritative and up-to-date information about computer and internet safety in our new program series, “Cyber Clinic.”
Cyber Clinic: Families is perfect for parents and guardians of children and teens trying to navigate how to keep their children safe online. Information presented will include how to manage their apps, figure out what apps allow them contact with others, and how to talk with your kids about their activity online.

Presented by Katrina Netzel. Katrina Netzel is a STEM Education Coordinator for the Central UP MiSTEM Network and the Upper Peninsula Cybersecurity Institute. She designs learning experiences, plans events, and manages programs in computer science and cybersecurity for K-12 educators and students. She has 13 years of experience, including classroom teaching and curriculum development.
Presented by Michael Sauer, Director of the Upper Peninsula Cybersecurity Institute (UPCI) at Northern Michigan University. In addition, Michael sits on the State of Michigan’s State and Local Government Cybersecurity Grant Committee and is the Workforce Development domain Co-chair for the State of Michigan’s Cybersecurity Roadmap Task Force.
The UPCI’s Mission Pillars:
-Teach, train, test, and prepare students for careers in cybersecurity
-Engage with Community and Industry partners through outreach events
-Partner with Upper Peninsula K-12 schools on cybersecurity education and safety.
In partnership with the Upper Peninsula Cybersecurity Institute.
