About this Event

Cyanotypes - Printing with Light

Join Sarah Martiny for an exploration of cyanotype and learn to make your own unique blueprints using natural light. This 3-hour deep dive into this historical cyanotype process will cover how to prepare the chemistry, application techniques, the use of different types of paper, and exposure times. Students will be provided with a variety of botanical materials and objects with which to compose their prints. After the class, participants will be able to confidently create cyanotypes on their own at home.

Cyanotype is an ideal medium for exploring your natural creativity. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own plants, flowers, photographic negatives, lace, or other objects to experiment printing with. All skill levels are welcome.
