The annual Chicks with Sticks Charity Golf Outing is a heartfelt event held in loving memory of Melissa Hornik, a passionate animal advocate and cherished friend. This fun and inspiring day brings together women (and men!) of all skill levels for a round of golf, laughter, and giving back—all to support a cause that meant the world to Melissa.
Held at a Bob O Link Golf Course, the outing includes 9 holes of golf, lunch, raffle prizes, and a whole lot of spirit. What started as a small gathering has grown into a meaningful tradition that honors Melissa’s legacy and love for animals. All proceeds from the event benefit The Friendship APL (Animal Protective League), a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need.
Whether you're an avid golfer or just coming for the camaraderie and cause, Chicks with Sticks offers a unique opportunity to make a difference. Melissa believed in second chances—not just for people, but for animals who needed a loving home. This outing continues that mission by raising vital funds to support veterinary care, adoption services, and shelter improvements.
CWS Format: Player 1 with tee off and strike the ball until it is on the green. Player 2 will putt the ball until it hits the bottom of the cup. Teams of 2 are CO-ED.
Come swing for a cause, celebrate Melissa’s generous spirit, and help give local animals the chance at a better life. Sponsorships, donations, and golfers are all welcome.
