Cwrs Cymraeg Dyffryn Hudson 2025

We are excited to announce that the 2025 Cymdeithas Madog in-person summer course Cwrs Cymraeg Dyffryn Hudson / The Hudson Valley Welsh Course, will be held at Marist University Poughkeepsie, NY from 20 – 27 July!

We have a great Cwrs planned for 2025! Our tutors biographies will be available very soon on the Cymdeithas Madog home page under “learn more about our summer 2025 course.”

The Wednesday excursion will be to The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum.

There will be pub nights, the famous quiz led by the indomitable Robert Jones, Welsh Scrabble, Welsh folk dancing, and extra workshops offered by our tutors on Welsh topics of interest. Our “Noson Lawen” and Eisteddfod will be highlights of the week! We hope you will join us!

The cost for the week is $1400.00 – room, board, tuition - regardless of single or double room occupancy. The accommodation will be townhouse-style residence. Each guest will have a private bedroom with shared bathroom access, along with a kitchen and common areas for added convenience. Marist University Townhouse New

Eisteddfod : At each Cwrs Cymraeg, Cymdeithas Madog holds a Welsh-language literary composition competition among the students. If you're unfamiliar with eisteddfodau, click here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eisteddfod. Just as the National Eisteddfod of Wales awards a chair to the winning bard each year, so does Cymdeithas Madog (though our chair is smaller). Prizes are also awarded for beginner and intermediate entries. The competition is open for anyone attending the course and will be adjudicated by our Cwrs tutors. Information for the Cwrs Eisteddfod topic will be released shortly.
