MEETING POINT at the cemetery entrance.
Glyntaff Cemetery is situated on a gentle hillside on the outskirts of Pontypridd and contains graves from both world wars. The tour starts with a gentle walk up the slope to a small concentration of graves from both world wars where we will talk about the origins and work of the CWGC. Hear the stories of some of the men and women commemorated here including a grave containing a father and son where the father fought in WW1 and the son in WW2.
The tour lasts approx. 45 mins and covers about 800 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground and slopes. There is wheelchair access but may need assistance.
There's limited parking available nearby, there is a small car park on site but that is used by mourners. There are on-site facilities including toilets available. Please bring water if required.
Please come dressed for the weather and wear suitable footwear.
Only assistance dogs are allowed in the cemetery.
Please note there can be last minute cancellations. This can be due to various reasons including illness, site issues and weather. We will email you as soon as we can, but this could include the morning of the tour, so please check your emails prior to leaving for the tour.
The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) aims to actively engage all communities with the work of the CWGC by telling the inspiring stories through education and outreach projects.
The CWGF is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (1171947) and Scotland (SC051982).
