CWGC Tours 2026 - Scarborough (Dean Road) Cemetery

Join the Commonwealth War Graves Commission for a free tour of Scarborough (Dean Road) Cemetery, led by one of our experienced volunteer tour guides.

M EETING POINT at the Cross of Sacrifice in front of the chapel in Dean Road Cemetery.

Scarborough’s Dean Road is a beautiful Victorian cemetery with burials from both World Wars. It contains the graves of over 100 servicemen and women who died during the two World Wars. This tour covers casualties from the Great War, and features the loss of two local fishing boats and a sailor who died after taking part in the 1918 St. George's day raid on Zeebrugge.

The tour lasts approx. 75 mins and covers about 600 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground .

There is limited parking in Dean Road Cemetery and plenty of on-street parking available for 3 hours with a parking disc. Please ask the tour guide for a disc if you need one.

There are no facilities or toilets on site. Please bring water if required.

Please come dressed for the weather and suitable footwear.

Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome in the cemetery.

Please note there can be last minute cancellations. This can be due to various reasons including illness, site issues and weather. We will email you as soon as we can, but this could include the morning of the tour, so please check your emails prior to leaving for the tour.
