The 2026 Mini Box Auction for Community Visions Unlimited (CVU) Utility Box Art Project. It will be held from 6pm – 9pm, Friday October 9th, at the New Orleans Yacht Club, 403 N. Roadway, New Orleans, 70124. If you enjoy the painted utility boxes, you will want to join Community Visions Unlimited (cvunola.org) to celebrate their 16th year anniversary. 468 art boxes were created in five parishes. Come meet and greet some of the artists, have a bite to eat, drink and appreciate some good music from VetJams, (a local band of veterans who use music to help stem the rate of veteran suicide). So come out and support a good cause.
The Mini Boxes (over 35) are original and go into auction once a year to help finance the organization so they can continue to provide art on more boxes. They are sized 7”x7” and provide open tops for storage or display. These unique items make great gifts for any occasion. The minimum bid starts at $50 for these unique items of the New Orleans Street Gallery. Send in bids ahead of the auction to [email protected] to reserve a special box. Pin replicas of the boxes are available for $5 each. All auction proceeds benefit the continuation of this public minded community project, which originated in post-Katrina New Orleans.
Since 1994 Community Visions has been assisting neighborhoods through art, beautification, and neighborhood revitalization. CVU has completed 468 utility boxes to date across 7 parishes. Each box is approved by the neighbors and the artists are paid and furnished with a paint kit. In addition, CVU is now working with AT&T painting boxes on their behalf (45 to date) and more to come...
