About this Event
Fort Bend County Crime Victim's Response Team (CVRT) is excited to be back for the 18th annual Crimes Against Persons Conference. This conference provides law enforcement agencies, counselors, medical staff, victim advocates, CPS workers, prosecutors, judges, probation officers, volunteers, and other service providers with important information on assisting victims of crimes. This training features a combination of keynote speakers and breakout sessions to unify service providers on best practices, while still allowing them to personalize their learning experience based on the needs of their respective fields. Attendees will be exposed to the current trends in victim services, trauma-informed practices from across Texas, and practical strategies on improving victim services.
This year the conference will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the Stafford Centre in Stafford , TX. Sign-in begins at 7:00 am with the conference beginning at 7:45 am. Training hours are available (CEU, CLE, CJAD, TCOLE).
Lunch from Jason's Deli is included in the price of admission.

Keynote Speaker: Kelley Sargeant is the executive presence coach, and the Head of Global Compliance Training and Communications for Ericsson, a multinational telecommunications and technology leader with a presence in more than 180 countries.
Before she became a recognized voice in leadership, communication, and ethics, her journey began with finding the courage to share her own story of overcoming the lasting impact of multiple assaults.
For years, Kelly volunteered with nonprofit organizations, courageously sharing her story of surviving childhood sexual abuse by a family member, domestic violence by a former spouse, and her struggle with using illegal drugs as a coping mechanism.
Speaking her truth became the catalyst for her healing, her transformation, and ultimately her life’s mission: helping others find their voice, own their moment, and reclaim their power.
Today, Kelly empowers leaders, advocates, and professionals worldwide to communicate with confidence, clarity, and compassion - whether it’s in a courtroom, a crisis response, or a conversation that could change someone’s life. Through her companies, Own Your Moment Consulting and the Leadership Voice Institute, she teaches others how to show up with presence, deliver their message powerfully, and protect their own well-being while serving others.
Her message is clear: Your voice matters. Your presence is your power. And your story
can be the bridge to someone else’s healing.
