About this Event
In this dynamic 1 day class, students will make a handle and finish out a 6” santoku style petty knife. The handle design is based on the japanese octagonal Wha style handles. These handles will be fitted to a Premade, 6” petty santoku style blade, made from 1/16” thick AEB-L stainless steel that has been Cryogenicly heat treated. Each student will leave with a finished knife.
The handles will be constructed from two contrasting woods with a maple dowel core. Students will also have the option of etching the 'Cutting for a Cause' logo on their knife blades.
The blades are extras from the first Cutting for a Cause charity event held at the Marc Adams school. The steel and waterjet cutting was donated by New Jersey Steel Barron, with extra blades and the first event raising $5500. We decided to keep the love going, and use the remaining blades to raise a bit more money for charity.
Half of the proceeds for this class will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
You must be 18 years or older to attend this class.
