We are hosting Cuts Against Cruelty to raise money for Tank’s emergency surgery.
The salon will be open Sunday, January 18th from 9–12, offering a limited service menu so every dollar can go toward saving his life.
Please read Tank’s story.
Tank was used as a backyard breeder stud valued only for what his body could produce. When he was no longer “useful,” he was discarded. He was given away, and when that owner passed away, Tank was left behind. Alone. Trapped inside the house with his deceased owner for an unknown amount of time, trying to survive without food, care, or understanding why the only person he knew never got up again.
When he was finally found he was sent back to the breeder, there was no relief. No compassion.
Tank was thrown outside into a wire crate, left sitting in his own feces, severely emaciated, confused, and grieving. Punished simply for being alive.
Tank was rescued by Joey,a true animal hero in our community.
From the moment Tank came into his care, it was clear he needed medical intervention. He was visibly malnourished, weak, and had been through more than any dog ever should. Joey immediately started the process of getting Tank vetted, treated, fed, and surrounded by stability and care.
At first, things seemed to be improving. Tank was gaining strength, receiving love, and finally experiencing consistency.
Then everything changed.
One night, Tank suddenly collapsed. He became lethargic and could barely walk. Recognizing the severity of the situation, Joey rushed him to the emergency vet without hesitation.
That’s when they discovered the truth,Tank had a long-standing intestinal blockage and had become septic. The blockage, believed to be a towel, had likely been inside him for quite some time, ingested while he was trying to survive during a period of extreme neglect and starvation.
Tank needed emergency, life-saving surgery. We are looking at $8,000+, not including aftercare or follow-up support.
This is not optional care.
This is the difference between life and death.
And yet Tank wants to live. He is still fighting. He is still here.
So we are stepping up.
You don’t have to get a service to help.
You can donate.
You can share.
You can show up.
Doing nothing costs lives.
If Tank’s story makes you uncomfortable, it should because this happens every single day to dogs who don’t get rescued in time.
Please help us save him.
Please share his story.
Please choose action.
