Join us on Saturday, June 13th from 11 AM–1 PM for a special walk-in challenge — create your own cute caterpillar! 🐛✨This is an ages 16+ activity where you can stop by without an appointment and try your hand at melting glass into an adorable caterpillar creation.
For $25, you’ll receive:
• A brief 5-minute safety talk
• 15 minutes at the torch
• Light verbal instruction while you create your piece
The week before the event, we’ll go Live on Facebook and post a Reel with tips if you’d like to study up beforehand. “That looks easy!” is what we hear most often… but can YOU win the Cutest Caterpillar Award? 👀
All caterpillars will cool overnight in the kiln. The next morning, Dominique will unload the kiln, photograph and number each entry, and prepare them for online voting.
There will be 3 winner categories:
🐛 Level 1 Absolute Beginner — never touched glass before
🐛 Level 2 Some Experience — has taken at least one class or walk-in experience
🐛 Level 3 Renter Level Experience*
Each category winner will receive:
🏆 A $25 Terrapin Gift Certificate
🏆 A handmade golden turtle medallion
🏆 Official bragging rights as the Cutest Caterpillar Creator
Caterpillars will be ready for pickup Sunday, June 14th from 1:30–2:30 PM, anytime after that by appointment, or we are happy to ship them.
Online voting begins Monday, June 15th, and winners will be announced Wednesday, June 17th at 1:30 PM.
*Levels 1 & 2 must participate during the walk-in event on Saturday, June 13th.
Renters must use their own materials and may schedule rental time between Saturday, June 6th and Friday, June 12th. One caterpillar may be submitted, and it must be created within 15 minutes of torch-on time.
