About this Event
Currents of Change Exhibition Launch
Join us for the launch of Currents of Change: Lived Histories of Liverpool's Waterfront, a community photography exhibition in which twelve Liverpool residents explore their lived relationships with the city's waterfront. Through their own photographs and words, participants tell stories of migration, labour, memory and environmental change along Liverpool's docks and shores.
The exhibition is part of Liminal Waterway Countercultures, a Europe-wide research project exploring how communities across the continent live with and around water in times of ecological and social crisis.
The launch features live performances from Blue Saint, André Jahnoi and Amina Atiq, alongside contributions from the participants themselves.
The exhibition runs at the Museum of Liverpool from May to August 2026.
Free event. All welcome. Registration essential.
Currents of Change: Lived Histories of Liverpool's Waterfront is delivered through Birkbeck University of London, and hosted by National Museums Liverpool at the Museum of Liverpool. It is funded by UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council and CHANSE (HERA). All the participant sessions were held at Granby Winter Garden.
