About this Event
Celebrate the rich culinary heritage of the African Diaspora and explore the plants of the exhibit, “Seeds of Survival and Celebration: Plants and the Black Experience.” Join us for a conversational dinner to enjoy a traditional West African meal, prepared by Chef Kuukua of Asempe Kitchen, while learning more about the plants used in dishes across the United States, Caribbean, and West Africa that are intertwined with Black resilience and culture. Chef Kuukua will be accompanied by other local chefs to share their knowledge of these regional cuisines and discuss the influence of West African approaches to food preparation. There will be two seatings for this event; please select either the 1:00 - 3:00 pm or the 4:00 - 6:00 pm seating when registering.
Flexible Fee Structure: Purchase a ticket from one of three price options -- $50, $35, or $20. Each ticket includes five dishes. (Participants also have the option of adding an additional amount to support our flexible fee structure.)
