Culture, Gospel, and Church Cohort w/ Fitch

Goals and Objectives:

Over the course of five weeks, we will meet weekly for 2.5 hours online to discuss the challenges we face as Christians and leaders in today's culture. Our sessions will include introductory readings, presentations by Prof. Fitch, and group discussions on leading amidst current struggles and antagonisms to manifest the presence of Jesus and restore the world.

This cohort will cover core ideas on navigating key cultural issues such as racism, ideological antagonism, the enclosed church, questions of power, the Holy Spirit, and the gospel. These discussions aim to foster discernment within the church and help us remain faithful while engaging with God's work in Christ. A bibliography will be available for further study.

One of the five sessions will be an in-person meeting, lasting from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., dedicated to a session, sharing, and praying for one another.

Prof. Fitch's Credentials: Fitch is a professor, author, and ordained pastor in the Christian and Missionary Alliance.

Gino’s Credentials: Doctoral student in Contextual Theology (Northern), pastor/planter The Table Philadelphia (Metro District), and ordained in the Christian and Missionary Alliance.

Five Weeks beginning Thursday, Oct 21 to first week in Dec. (we will take off the week of Thanksgiving).

Week 1: The Church in the Culture - The Three Circles: Thursday, 10/24 from 7:30-10 pm Eastern

Week 2: Power – Navigating Power as Christians and Church Leaders: Thursday, 11/7 from 7:30-10 pm Eastern

Week 3: Ideology and Racism: Thursday, 11/14 from 7:30-10 pm Eastern

Week 4: The Gospel – Mission in the World: Thursday, 11/21 from 7:30-10 pm Eastern

Week 5: Sexuality: First week of Decemeber in-person in NYC 10-3 pm (Date to be decided by cohort).

Join us as we delve into these critical topics and work together to lead the church in today's complex cultural landscape. Tuition for this is only $150. Travel to NYC is not included.

All reading materials and syllabus will be provided digitally and are included in the registration fee.
