About this Event
QPL’s Culture Connection is proud to host this spirited discussion with bestselling author André Aciman and award-winning audiobook narrator Edoardo Ballerini! They will talk about Aciman’s latest work, Roman Year: A Memoir. A continuation of Aciman’s debut memoir, “Out of Egypt” (1995), “Roman Year” is a coming-of-age story chronicling a refuge family in the Eternal City.
Born in Alexandria, Egypt, André Aciman, the award-winning author of Call Me by Your Name, Find Me, and many other books, is an American memoirist, essayist, novelist, and eminent professor of Comparative Literature at the CUNY Graduate Center. His work has also appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, The Paris Review, and several volumes of The Best American Essays.
Acclaimed veteran film and TV actor Edoardo Ballerini will interview Andre Aciman and read passages from Roman Year. Ballerini is a two-time winner of the Audio Publishers Association’s Best Male Narrator Award and has been named a “Golden Voice” by AudioFile Magazine.
Award-winning screenwriter, journalist, playwright, actor, producer, and director John Buffalo Mailer will introduce our program. Mailer has made over twenty films, written for many national magazines, and most recently served as executive producer for “How to Come Alive with Norman Mailer,” a feature documentary about the life of his father.
