We are thrilled to announce that we are less than two months away from the our 3rd Annual Cultural Connections: A Celebration of Black & Brown Literature, taking place on Saturday, November 8th at Elias Brookings Elementary School in Springfield, MA, from 1 PM to 6 PM.
This family-friendly event, hosted by Ayanna Crawford creator & visionary of Take the Mic Program and myself, Regine Jackson, founder of The Flimsy Quill, will promote literacy and empower youth and families, particularly within Western Mass & Springfield's BIPOC communities. We’re inviting BIPOC authors of the African Diaspora (including Black, Hispanic & Latinx authors), community resource vendor tables, and educators to participate in a day focused on unity, collaboration, and the power of storytelling.
Through this event, we aim to uplift our community, promoting reading as a path to confidence, self-esteem, and self-discovery for young people and their families. Together, we believe we can inspire the next generation, opening doors to endless opportunities and nurturing their unique talents.
We are seeking authors, organizations, and community leaders to join us as vendors and contributors. If you're interested in being a part of this impactful day, you can fill out our vendor form here: Vendor Sign-Up or email me directly at [email protected] for more information.
Additionally, if you're interested in becoming a sponsor or want to inquire about press opportunities, please reach out to Ayanna Crawford M.Ed. at 413-886-9089. Your support will help make this event a vibrant celebration of culture, literacy, and youth empowerment.
Let’s come together to create a lasting impact on our community through the shared love of literature, social justice, and collaboration. We look forward to hearing from you!
