Cucalorus Film Festival Presents: Keynote Brunch with Emily Best

The Heartbeat of Indie Film is Collaboration
Emily Best has spent 15 years helping filmmakers collaborate with their audiences to get more than 8,500 indie films made on crowdfunding platform Seed&Spark. Over that same time period, we have seen the fastest consolidation of the entertainment industry in its history, posing an existential threat not just to artists's sustainability and autonomy but also to the broader independent film industry at large. Emily will make a case for optimism - that our instinct as indie filmmakers to collaborate can help us build a new industry rooted in solidarity, agency, fairness and hell, even kindness.
