SYNOPSIS:
SPARKLE! A Holiday Celebration is an uplifting theatrical experience that captures the magic, joy, and heart of the holiday season!
The show unfolds through themed chapters
Sparkle of Celebration, Sparkle of Nostalgia, Sparkle of Fun, Sparkle of Family, and Sparkle of Hope
each exploring a different facet of the season.
Featuring performers of all ages, SPARKLE! is filled with vibrant production numbers, beautiful harmonies, dynamic dancing, and memorable storytelling that connects one musical moment to the next. Whether audiences come for the festive excitement, the treasured traditions, the laughter, or the message of hope, they will leave with hearts full of holiday spirit and a renewed sense of wonder. SPARKLE! A Holiday Celebration is a joyful reminder that the brightest light of the season shines through celebration, cherished memories, family, laughter, and hope.
CHARACTERS:
No specific characters, but there will be appearances from Frosty, the Snowman, Elves, Dancing Packages, a Christmas Tree, Marshmallows, Carolers, and many more exciting features.
Students will need to provide Black pants, black socks, and shoes/jazz shoes. All other costumes and props will be provided.
Any student wanting to be cast in a feature, be it a vocal solo, dance, or character, will need to prepare a 30-45 second section of a Holiday song, memorized with a backing track, and the following short monologue memorized, and present it at the auditions August 5th:
MONOLOGUE:
"Our celebration now turns our hearts toward something brighter than any holiday light – Hope. In a world that can sometimes feel uncertain, hope reminds us to be brave and look forward with courage and kindness. Perhaps our greatest hope lives in the next generation, the children. The children who dream big, love freely and inspire us for a brighter tomorrow."
For those not ready for a feature, prepare to play a few theatre games and to sing as part of a small group.
Anyone who wants to participate is welcome. However, rehearsal attendance is crucial!
Students with numerous conflicts may not be included in all numbers.
REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals will be from 5:30 – 7:30 on Wednesdays at CTSI beginning on August 5th continuing through the months of September - show dates December 18 & 19.
November Rehearsals we will be extended to 8:00pm.
We will have 3 Friday evening rehearsals 5:30pm – 8:00pm:
September 18, October 23, November 20.
Students of various ages will be divided into groups. We want to utilize everyone’s time to the best of our abilities and not have students sitting around. Not everyone will be called the full time at each rehearsal. It is possible that a student will attend the first half, last half, or not be scheduled for the rehearsal, depending on the number being worked on, so close attention to updates- Google Classroom is a MUST.
