2026 Spring Youth Field TrialEast Windsor CT
Open to all youth ages 4-18
Entries to 860-455-8129
Entries close on 4/1, Draw on 4/1
Entry: $20 per child
Lunch: $10
Breakfast: $6
(Hopefully all entries will be sponsored by a kind person or business! Will post if so!)
- 2 Stakes: Gundog and Derby
- 20min braces
- Raffle prizes, snacks, breakfast, lunch will be avail
- Ribbons for top 4 placements
- Ribbons for top junior handlers
- Kids games and fun activities after the trial finishes
- Experienced, professional judges
- Professional photographers on site capturing all of the memories!
Schedule of the Day:
7:00am- Volunteers arrive to set up
8:45am- Pretrial group meeting
9:00am- Trial Begins
9:00am- Derby Stakes
11:00am (Approx)- Gundog stakes
1:00pm- LUNCH
2:00pm- Kids games and fun!
3:00pm- Awards Ceremony & Raffle
3:30pm- Volunteer clean up
Guidelines:
-All dogs may wear an ecollar
-Parents may quietly walk behind the judges and help as needed, we try to keep it minimal and let the kids work
-Judges will assist kids as needed
-We follow the guidelines of the derby/gundog stakes. Minus any disqualifications. No kids will be disqualified or asked to pick up due to dog error.
-We do use pigeons and/or pheasant and launchers for bird set up.
-No live rounds, blank guns only* as is normal in a regular trial. Judges will carry blank gun and fire for any kids under an appropriate age to do so.

If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to reach out! We try to run closely as a “real trial” but as there can be no points earned here, we offer some leniency due to age and experience. The mission is for the kids to learn and have fun. No child leaves sad or disappointed here, we ensure everyone has a positive experience and keeps showing up! There will be plenty of experienced people on site to assist with any new families or beginners. All are welcome.
