Special Tournament Rules:

DUEL OF THE FATES – Many different Horatio look-a-likes have come forward, claiming to be the reincarnation of the one, true Horatio. Each round, both teams are assigned a tournament-specific star player - either THE SAINT or THE COUNT. Flip a coin (or roll off) and the winner gets first choice.
THE SAINT
MA4/ST2/AG3+/PA-/AV8+
Defensive, Dodge, Loner (5+), Side Step, Stunty, Titchy, No Hands, Fowl Wisdom (Once per team turn, when a player that is in an adjacent square is activated, that player may gain either the Sprint, Leap, Pro, or Dirty Player (+1) skill until the end of their activation)
THE COUNT
MA4/ST2/AG3+/PA-/AV8+
Dodge, Hypnotic Gaze, Loner (5+), Stab, Stunty, Titchy, No Hands, Hungry Eyes (Once per half, a victim of a successful Hypnotic Gaze can be given the trait Bloodlust (3+) for their next activation. If they fail their roll, they can bite any teammate as a substitution to a thrall.)
Both stars will lose their Loner (5+) trait and gain Loner (2+) if the opposing SAINT or COUNT is not on the pitch.
Rules Not In Effect
The standard kick off and weather tables will be replaced. The matches are all happening in February in the Canadian north! The “Harsh Tundra” Weather Table and the “Norsca” Kick-Off Table from pages 18 and 19 of the SPIKE! Issue 14 will be used. These tables will be made available to players at the event. There are no special pitch rules or special balls. The Prayers to Nuffle table remains in effect.
Teams will resurrect at the end of each game. No SPPs, injuries or any roster changes carry over between games.
Illegal Procedure and the 4-minute time limit will not be enforced.
Teams with the ability to raise killed players will be allowed to, but they will not carry over to the next game.
Team Building
All NAF sanctioned teams are eligible, including Slann.
Teams get 1.2 million gold to construct their roster. This can be spent on players, rerolls, inducements, cheerleaders, assistant coaches, and/or an apothecary.
Teams must purchase a minimum of 11 rostered players.
Teams may only purchase the following inducements at the standard cost:
(0-3) Bribes
(0-2) Bloodweiser Kegs
(0-1) Halfing Master Chef (available to Halfing teams only)
(0-1) Riotous Rookies (available to Snotling teams only)
(0-2) Star Players
Roster Points Each team will be given an allotment of Roster Points in order to improve the team’s capabilities. You can spend these points on skills, stars, special inducements and/or extra money.
Tier 1 (4 Points)
Amazon, Dark Elf, Dwarf, High Elf, Lizardmen, Norse, Orc, Shambling Undead, Skaven, Underworld, Vampire
Tier 2 (6 Points)
Chaos Dwarf, Chaos Renegades, Human, Khemri, Khorne, Necromantic Horror, Elf Union, Old World Alliance, Slann, Wood Elf
Tier 3 (8 Points)
Black Orc, Chaos Chosen, Imperial Nobility, Gnome, Nurgle, Snotling
Tier 4 (10 Points)
Goblin, Halfling, Ogre
SKILLS - Skill Each primary skill will cost 1 roster point. A secondary skill can be selected, but this will cost 2 points. No skill can be added to your team more than twice. In addition, skill stacking is allowed on one of your players to a maximum of 2 primary-access. No skills can be added to induced star players.
STARS – You can induce up to two star players. Each one will cost 2 Roster Points in addition to their inducement cost. If a star is considered a Mega-Star according to the latest Designer’s Commentary (FAQ/Errata), they will cost 4 Roster Points. Currently, this list includes: Bomber Dribblesnot, Cindy Piewhistle, Deeproot Strongbranch, Griff Oberwald, Hakflem Skuttlespike, Kreek ‘the Verminator’ Rustgouger, and Morg ‘n’ Thorg.
MONEY – You can spend 1 Roster Point in order to add 10K to your overall team budget. This can allow you to spend more than your original budget of 1.2 million gold.
INDUCEMENTS – Certain inducements can be added to your roster for the standard gold cost plus an additional number of roster points, as followed:
1 point – Plague Doctor, (In)Famous Coaching Staff, WAAAGH! Drummer, Dwarfen Runesmith, Heady Brew, Cavorting Nurglings
3 points – Giant Mercenary Player, Hireling Sports-Wizard
There are existing limits to each inducement. For example, only one Wizard is allowed to be induced, while you can have up to 2 (In)Famous Coaching Staff.
Example: Josh wants to bring his Nurgle team and has 8 points to spend. He rosters 2 Rotters, 4 Pestigors, 4 Bloaters, and a Rotspawn along with the Star Player, Withergrasp Doubledrool. With 1 reroll, this would normally cost 1210k gold, so he buys extra money with 1 Roster Point. He pays 2 Roster Points for the Star Player, and adds the primary skills, “Sure Hands” on one of his Pestigors with a stacked set of “Block” and “Guard” one Bloater for a total of 3 Roster Points for three primary skills. Finally, he gives his Rotspawn the mutation “Prehensile Tail”, which is available as a secondary skill. This costs him the final 2 Roster Points.
ANYONE WHO SUBMITS THEIR ROSTER BY FEBRUARY 16th, 2025 BY 12:00pm (noon) WILL RECEIVE A FREE CHEERLEADER INDUCEMENT.
Skills Draft At the end of the first day, there will be two rounds of a skill draft. Starting with the lowest tournament points and working towards the highest, each coach may select a skill from the list below and have it assigned to any player without the Loner skill. If they selected a skill that is not a primary skill available to a player on their team, they forfeit their second-round selection. Once a skill is selected, it is removed from the skills available and may not be selected by another coach.
