Tour transportation will be provided via charter buses, with limited ADA accessibility. Access to restrooms may be limited throughout the tour as well. Site tours may require limited walking over rough and/or uneven terrain. If you require accommodations to attend the tour, please contact Chagrin River Watershed Partners and we will do our best to make reasonable accommodations where applicable.

These tours are primarily supported by a grant from the Healing Our Waters Great Lakes Coalition and through additional support from the Lake County Stormwater Management Department, Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, and CRWP members and partners.

Meet and Park at Daniels Park

Info: Please park in the parking lots on the NORTH side of Johnnycake Ridge Road/State Route 84 and use restrooms.


Chagrin River Restoration at Daniels Park

Info: Buses will depart from Daniels Park and travel to the south side of Johnnycake Ridge Road for a site visit highlighting a collaborative project between the City of Willoughby and Chagrin River Watershed Partners. This dam removal and habitat restoration project was designed to improve fish passage, restore natural river habitat, and enhance the overall health of the Chagrin River.


Sowinski Park Stream Restoration & Wilson Elementary School Rain Garden

Info: This stop highlights the collaborative efforts of Doan Brook Watershed Partnership and Chagrin River Watershed Partners to restore stream health and strengthen regional partnerships. Participants will walk to the Wilson Elementary School Rain Garden after visiting a stream and floodplain restoration project in Rockefeller Park. The project reconnects Doan Brook to its natural floodplain, improving aquatic habitat, enhancing water quality, and increasing flood resilience for the surrounding community.


Brightwood Lake Stream Restoration

Info: This stop highlights the collaborative work of Lake Soil & Water Conservation District and Chagrin River Watershed Partners on a dam removal and stream restoration project. The project restored the natural flow of Kellogg Creek, improving water quality, enhancing aquatic habitat, and supporting the long-term health of the watershed.


Springbrook Gardens Park Stream Restoration

Info: This stop highlights a collaborative project between the City of Mentor & Chagrin River Watershed Partners. The nature-based stream restoration project added sinuosity and native vegetation to reduce erosion, slow stormwater flows, improve water quality, and enhance aquatic habitat. Restrooms are available at this location.
