Crown Talks: The Father I was Given and the Father I Chose
Join Melanin Moods for an intimate and empowering afternoon of honest conversation, reflection, and community healing as we explore Black women’s relationships with fatherhood from the fathers who raised us to the men we choose to father our children.
Fatherhood can shape identity, self-worth, love, protection, and healing in profound ways. For many women, those experiences carry stories of joy and disappointment which can have a generational impact. Crown Talks creates a safe and welcoming space to unpack and explore our stories together.
Through open discussion and shared experiences, we’ll reflect on:
- The impact of our fathers and father figures
- Healing from complicated family dynamics
- Breaking unhealthy cycles
- Choosing partners and co-parents intentionally
- Protecting the emotional wellbeing of future generations
- Building healthier relationships within our communities
Expect meaningful dialogue, a warm atmosphere, light refreshments and a judgement-free environment where every voice matters.
