Cross-talk Instrumenta_01 is a night of improvised sonic exploration, with artists/musicians from nipaluna/Hobart and Naarm/Melbourne — Pairing traditional instruments with electronic synthesizers and machines.

Kier Stevens —
nipaluna/Melbourne based guitarist Kier Stevens is a prolific composer and performer within a wide array of styles including blues, youimprovisational, rock, songwriting, and intercultural settings, with a focus on bringing steel guitar (dobro/lap steel/pedal steel) outside of conventional contexts. Drawing on a wealth of experience gleaned from hundreds of performances and collaborations with a broad selection of musicians from vastly different backgrounds, Kier continues to develop a unique voice on steel guitar and brings increasing depth to his layered compositions.
Stormworm —
Stormworm is the solo electronic music project of lutruwita/Tasmania based musician and visual artist David Fooks.
Utilising hardware samplers, synthesisers and new music technology — David uses various approaches to sound synthesis and sample manipulation, resulting in an amalgamation of spliced sonic grains and progressive synth passages. Bouncing between light and dark, fast and slow, rhythmic and ambient.
Bing/Santospirito —
Natalya and Joshua live in Lutruwita (Tasmania, Australia) and create hypnotic improvised soundscapes using elements from classical improvisation combined with noise / improv / jazz music. They often collaborate with visual artists and filmmakers to create fully immersive performances which have been staged at major festivals and underground venues.
Svetlana Bunic —
Drawing upon a kaleidoscopic array of sounds & styles, electric accordionist svetlana bunic’s musicality is driven by curiosity & possibility.
Édith Perrenot —
Edith Perrenot is a French interdisciplinary visual and performing artist based in Hobart/nipaluna.
Edith performs and sings in the improvisational band Philomath; the collaborative electro project Stormworm & La Sauvage; and the wild and exuberant French cabaret group Miettes.
