About this Event
Join our Crochet Club for Youth: Stitch & Dig Dinosaurs: Learn beginner crochet skills while creating fun dinosaur-themed projects.
This program connects fiber arts to the Summer Learning theme “Underneath a Story” through the fun concept of “Digging Up Dinosaurs.” Youth will learn beginner crochet skills while exploring dinosaur and fossil themes. Crochet is used as a metaphor for discovery, just as fossils are uncovered layer by layer, participants will build their projects row by row, revealing patterns as they go. The session includes a brief educational introduction, guided crochet instruction, and time for independent practice.
- Learn basic crochet skills and stitches.
- Create a dinosaur-themed crochet project.
- Practice sequencing and pattern reading.
- Build confidence, patience, and problem-solving skills.
- Encourage youth to explore and check out dinosaur- and crochet-themed books for summer reading.
