Crochet a pot with Valeria Kiyko

In this engaging beginner-friendly class your experienced teacher will guide you through essential techniques and stitches to create a pot. You will learn how to make a beautiful and practical item.

We will provide all participants with a hook and yarn which you will be able to take home at the end of the class. So, if you haven’t finished making your pot or if you want to make more at home, you’ve got everything you need.

Valeria will have examples of different size pots, colour combinations and textures to help you design your pot.

She will also give you tips on how to finish your product, change colour and tidy up threads.

This workshop is suitable for beginners but please note that some beginners may need more time to complete their pot at home.

The workshop will be held at Yodomo's studio at the Textile Reuse Hub, Hackney Wick.

About Valeria Kiyko

Valeria is a knitwear, accessories and textile artist based in London. She fell in love with knitting while studying textile knit at Central St. Martins.

After graduating she worked at high end design studio where she learned not only making of clothes but importance of finish and attention to detail.

She works on a domestic knitting machine and also specializes in crochet. The main focus of Valeria’s work is creating playful and graphic knitwear for children through exploration of color and form and storytelling around it with her photography. Her pieces are genderless and ageless, so they can be easily translated into adult clothes.

At @maluk_knitwear (Maluk means little one or baby in Ukrainian) all the pieces are handmade, hand finished and fully fashioned, so there is no waste.

Valeria is passionate about her craft and she loves teaching machine knit and crochet. With her classes she aims to show people therapeutic and rewarding nature of knitting and its endless creative possibilities.
