About this Event
Critical Incident Stress Management Training is a 3 day intensive training designed to teach participants intervention techniques for use with law enforcement, fire department, EMS, Healthcare personnel and other populations who experience incidents that produce vivid reactions. Reactions can include the physical, emotional, mental & behavioral domains and range from mild to debilitating for the individual(s).
Kimble Richardson, M.S., LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, LCAC & Lindi Holt, PhD, NRP, NCEE are faculty with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) and between them have amassed over 60 years of experience in crisis intervention. Both have been national presenters at the World Congress on Stress and Coping. Between them, they have done well over 1000 interventions in CISM and include responses during disaster situations, including the Indiana State Fair Stage collapse and the recent Fed Ex mass shooting. Both are also experienced educators who will lead you through individual, large group, and small group intervention models using various facilitation techniques. Recommended COVID 19 precautions will be observed during the training. Please plan on bringing a mask with you for use throughout the course if Indiana guidelines warrant it.
The training has a combination of lecture and guided role playing activities. Each day begins at 8:00 am and ends promptly at 5:00 pm. Participants will receive certificates from ICISF in Assisting Individuals In Crisis & Group Crisis Intervention. In order to qualify for certification, participants may miss NO MORE than 30 minutes TOTAL for the entire training. With the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, masks might be required except when speaking during dynamic exercises. The sponsoring host will provide further guidance prior to the course.
PARTICIPANT CANCELLATION POLICY
Participants who find themselves unable to attend may transfer their registration to another participant, as long as the instructors or hosts are notified ahead of time.
