About this Event
UROC Critical Conversation: Looking Back, Moving Forward - Strategy, Community, and the Work Ahead
In its first Critical Conversation of 2026, UROC will highlight its process of developing a 10-year strategic plan and reflect upon UROC's founding, achievements, and the challenges as well as opportunities that lie ahead. Attendees will then hear from a panel of members from UROC's newly appointed Community Advisory Board.
Community Advisory Board members will share reflections on engaging in justice-centered work amid today’s social and political climate, the challenges facing the communities we work with, and how UROC continues to evolve as a trusted anchor for community-engaged research. The event will also introduce the full Community Advisory Board and Josie R. Johnson Dissertation Fellowship recipients. Through a facilitated panel discussion, audience members will explore how academic-university partnership can inspire, transform, and make progress, especially in times that demand clarity, healing, courage, and collective action.
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is requested. Food will be provided.
