Prevent, Mitigate, Respond. Addressing 21st century law enforcement challenges.
About this Event

Successful law enforcement leadership in the 21st century means being prepared to respond when things go wrong—either internally or in the community. This two-day training course, led by two experienced chiefs of police who've navigated a wide variety of crises, is designed to equip you with the essential skills to navigate law enforcement‘s unique challenges. This interactive course focuses on preventing, mitigating, and navigating the challenges that arise for law enforcement leaders. Blending theory, real-world case studies, and practical exercises ensures that everyone, from newly appointed leaders to those with years of experience, is well-prepared to handle the challenges that lie ahead. Course topics include:

Critical Incident Leadership

Avoiding Reputational Crises Through Policy, Training & Values

Reputational Crisis Response Plan

Internal Communications: A Critical Audience

Navigating Demands for Police Reform

Change Leadership: Leadhing Through Shifts in Police Culture

Seating is limited, so don't miss this opportunity to elevate your leadership skills and make an impact for your department and community, hosted by the Clermont Police Department, located about 30 minutes west of Orlando, the Orlando International Airport, and ample entertainment, theme parks and dining.

About the instructors:

Jason Armstrong, currently chief of police of the Apex (NC) Police Department, was brought in to lead the Ferguson (MO) PD through a consent decree after a high-profile, controversial officer involved shooting. He is a highly sought-after presenter and medida contributor, speaking across the country on leadership and navigating police reform.

Christopher Mannino, a retired chief of police from the Chicago area, is an FBI National Academy graduate and National Policing Institute Executive Fellow who led his agency through multiple crises and critical incidents. He is now Vice President of Julie Parker Communications and is internationally recognized as a crisis communications expert.
