Two great musical acts from Maryland in one cool night on the Avalon stage!
Baltimore’s Cris Jacobs is an unexpectedly gritty soul-blues singer and guitarist with an outlaw country ethos and a tendency to collaborate with the likes of Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh. Blending a variety of musical traditions, Jacobs is equally at home playing heartfelt Americana ballads or funky blues rockers. He’s known for his mesmerizing live shows, where his distinctive voice, improvisational guitar playing, powerhouse band, and deep reservoir of songs make each night a unique experience.
Hailing from Annapolis, Pressing Strings is a powerhouse trio that’s earned a loyal following with a genre-bending blend of blues, rock, and folk, wrapped in soul-stirring storytelling and toe-tapping grooves. Their music resonates with the emotional grit of blues, the laidback swagger of folk, and the urgency of modern rock. Whether delivering heartfelt ballads or energetic anthems, Pressing Strings weaves lyrical introspection and high-caliber musicianship that feels both fresh and familiar.
