Two fun and short grade 1 scramble routes to the summit of Y Lliwedd... guaranteed to be quiet and away from the crowds! Beginners to scramble terrain welcome! Cribau & Y Lliwedd
Cribau is a brief scramble that diverges from the main Miners path on the Snowdon Massif. We will cross over to the three peaks forming Y Lliwedd and loop back to the Miners path for our descent. The descent can be steep in certain areas, so good mountain footing and experience on rocky terrain or paths are advised. Walking poles are highly beneficial on this type of terrain!
Come and explore the beauty of Yr Wyddfa the secret way and summit the lessen trodden mountain of Y Lliwedd with me for this beautiful mountain circular. Suitable for beginners to mountain scrambling with a good level of fitness and strong mountain legs for the descent.
Meet in Llanberis at the bus interchange and take in the classic circular with me for a thrilling intro to scrambling at grade 1. Hop on and off the scramble footpath at your own leisure, no exposure unless you want it!

You should pack your rucksack with all weather in mind!

Suncream/Cap/Sunglasses
Charged mobile
Plenty of water (no cafe on mountain)
Plenty of food
High energy snacks (low sugar, high carb/fats)
Walking shoes or boots (good tread like a vibram sole unit)
Appropriate clothing for the day
Poles if you use them
A basic blister, plaster and paracetamol kit, foil blanket
Leave rings and jewellery at home as they can get damaged on scrambles.
What to wear?
A wicking/sweatproof baselayer
Mid-layer (fleece)
Warm outer (down/synthetic layer)
Waterproof/wind shell
Spare warm layer in bag
Leggings or 'flexible' trousers
Always have spare driving shoes and some warm clothes in the car incase you get wet on the day.
