As the turbulence in the global political economy shows little sign of abating, at national level the effects are manifested most visibly in the behaviour of the labour market. Those in work and looking for work find their experiences conditioned by forces such as technological change, state policy and sluggish growth. Those in low wage and precarious work feel the effect of these forces particularly acutely. However, the effects are also felt in higher paid sectors of the market such as graduate jobs.

This seminar brings together four expert contributors to examine these trends and to provide an assessment of the state of the contemporary UK labour market. As well as hearing the speakers, we hope you will join us to contribute to the discussion on this important topic.
