At just 16 years old, Crew Crawford is quickly becoming one of the Midwest’s promising young voices in bluegrass and Americana music. Raised in a family where bluegrass has been passed down for generations, Crew began playing music at the age of 10 and developed a deep respect for the roots and storytelling traditions that define the genre.
A talented multi-instrumentalist, Crew plays mandolin, fiddle, banjo, and guitar, blending traditional string-band instrumentation with a modern neotraditional country and Appalachian-inspired sound. Drawing influence from artists like Tyler Childers, Crew’s music stays grounded in authentic storytelling, raw acoustic energy, and the spirit of classic bluegrass and folk music.
Crew first performed with the family band, Crawford Crew Bluegrass, where he sharpened his musicianship and stage presence. Since then, he has played at Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival along with various festivals and events throughout the region, earning recognition for both his talent and dedication to preserving traditional music.
With one recording already released and many more songs ahead, Crew Crawford continues to carry on his family’s musical legacy while creating a sound that bridges bluegrass, folk, Americana, and neotraditional country for a new generation of listeners.
