INSTRUCTORS: KIRAN SHAH, STEINAR KAARSTEIN & KRISTOFFER JØRGENSEN
Kiran Shah:
The world’s shortest stuntman, best known for his work on Lord of the Rings as Frodo´s (Elijah Wood) stunt and scale double. Kiran has had an astounding career spanning some of the most popular films and TV productions ever, including 7 different Star Wars titles, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Narnia, The Hobbit, Harry Potter, Superman and The Dark Crystal. In 2024 he was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire for his services to the film industry.

Steinar Kaarstein:
One of the most experienced SFX make-up artists working in film and stage arts in the Nordic region. CEO of Effektmakeren AS, which has supplied film, TV, theatre and events productions with cutting edge SFX make up and prosthetic effects since 2001. Effektmakeren designs, creates and builds props, makeup-effects, hand-puppets, stop motion puppets, custom masks and special effects on demand.

Kristoffer Jørgensen:
Kristoffer has worked as a stunt coordinator and performer for 30 years, in Norway and internationally, including on some of the Nordic region´s most prosthetics/SFX make-up heavy films like "There´s something in the barn" and the "Dead Snow" series. As a stunt performer he has worked in extensive creature make-up and life size body suits. He also works in theatre and live action shows as a performer and fight and special movement choreographer.

DISCLAIMER: This is not a special effects or make up workshop. We will be working with stylised masks, not full SFX applications. The emphasis will be how to create characters and do physically demanding work (e.g fight scenes) when wearing masks or similar hindrances or challenges to your natural ranges of movement and expression.
We reserve the right to cancel the workshop if we do not reach the minimum needed number of students by a month before the workshop. A refund will be given to all participants should this happen. Students may also cancel participation up to a month out of the workshop.
