Creative Writing Workshop with Shani Akilah

In this session, Shani will explore the power of your own story and show you how to draw inspiration from everyday life. You'll receive practical tips on cultivating a writing practice, along with engaging in a series of interactive and solo writing exercises designed to help you get started on your writing journey. 
 

Shani Akilah is a Black British Caribbean writer and screenwriter from Woolwich. She is a book influencer, co-founded the Nyah Network, a book club for Black women, and was a literary judge for the Nota Bene Prize 2023. Shani has a Masters degree in African Studies from Oxford University. Her debut short story collection 'For Such A Time As This' was published in June 2024
