Creative Writing Walk - Crime Writing special

Meet at 10am at Victoria Junction cafe at Victoria Quays for a hot drink and a short writing exercise before walking along the canal towpath, gathering inspiration for crime-related writing - or just enjoy the urban nature and echoes of history. We'll walk to the locks at Tinsley Marina to do more writing before heading back to the city centre on the tram. Then we'll walk back to the quays to the Emmaus coffee shop, where acclaimed crime writer Danuta Reah will meet us to talk about crime writing and the process of writing her novel Bleak Water, set around Sheffield's canal. We'll also have a chance to share what we have written on our walk.

Please dress appropriately for the weather. Paths may be muddy. Please bring a notebook or something to write on/with and you'll need to pay your own tram fare!

How to get to Victoria Quays:

Tram: It's about a 5 minute walk from Fitzallan Square Tram stop.

Buses: 5, 24 Sheffield, 25, 97 Sheffield, 98 Sheffield, X54 Sheffield and X74 Sheffield bus routes.

Train: It takes around 15 minutes to walk from Sheffield Train Station to get to Victoria Quays.

Parking: The Victoria Quays Car park is the closest car park to the walk meeting point.
