What to Expect
Expect a relaxed, creative, women-only atmosphere, where you will be guided by the talented Rashida Arts through the art of Kintsugi painting. Expect a gentle, creative workshop, the perfect mix of art and wellbeing.
Kintsugi painting is the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery using gold paint, finding the beauty in what’s broken. This delicate activity will involve mindfulness, as well as be a chance for you to take some time out of your busy life and try something new.
Free tea, coffee and snacks also provided.
Please note the workshop will use eggshells and may not be suitable for those with dairy allergies. If you have any concerns about this, please get in touch.
About Rashida Arts
Rashida Osman is an Islamic fine artist, calligrapher, educator, and curator. She describes herself as someone who has found sanctuary in creativity, especially during life’s most fragile moments.
Her roots stretch between British and African heritage, and her work is deeply inspired by the sacred traditions of Islamic art. Rashida specialises in Maghrebi Andalusi calligraphy and illumination. She also shares experiences of caring responsibilities.
“My work is always rooted in spirituality. Whether it’s through painting, calligraphy, or workshops, I hope to offer a moment of stillness, a way for the viewer to feel closer to the Divine. I believe art is more than visual. It is dhikr, it is therapy, it is an invitation. And in every gold line or swirling letter, I hope you find something that touches your soul. With light, Rashida”
