Spencer Barefield (guitar), perform a program inspired by the hundreds of concerts and world-renowned artists CAC has brought to Detroit over the past 5 decades, including the series "Creative Music at the DIA" from 1979 -1992. This performance features the world premiere of George Lewis’s latest String Quartet 3.5 “Great Migrations” commissioned by The Koussevitzky Foundation, Library of Congress; as well as works by Vijay Iyer, Henry Threadgill, and A.
