About this Event
On Saturday, November 8th, 2025 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm, join artist Taryn Walker for a family-friendly printmaking workshop inspired by their long-listed artwork Ursula’s Infinite Chase Through The Fourth Dimension.
In this hands-on session, participants will step behind the scenes of Taryn’s creative process to explore how art, imagination, and technology interact. Together, we’ll examine a laser-cut woodblock up close, watch the magic of the printing press in motion, and experiment with creating our own prints that travel through dimensions of color, texture, and story. No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to explore. Perfect for families, beginners, and anyone interested in discovering the tactile joy of printmaking.
The event will begin with a 30-min guided tour for the current exhibition “CICA Vancouver Emerging to Midcareer International Award Exhibition Part 2”, led by the Chief Curator. Participants will then be brought up to the mezzanine level for a printmaking workshop. The workshop will encourage participants to get to know different types of printmaking, to explore positive space and negative space in printmaking, and allow them to try to make one themselves.
Materials will be provided for participants.
