Creative Kids on Small-Gauge Workshop

The8fest is dedicated to keeping the magic of small gauge film-on-film alive for years to come. As a compliment to our annual festival, we’re hosting a workshop to invite the filmmakers of the future into the wonderful world of analogue film.

If you know a curious, imaginative kid, who may be interested in moving images or mechanics, introduce them to small gauge filmmaking through this workshops! The Creative Kids on Small Gauge workshop is geared towards kids ages 6-12, who alongside their aged 18+ companions, will get a interactive primer on how analogue film works, get creative with fun experimental techniques, and even shoot their own film footage!

All participants will enjoy a day of play and learning, and afterwards, will be sent a digitized copy of the footage shot during the workshop. But that’s not all! Participants also get a free entry to the8fest film festival, where we will be screening the workshop footage alongside our other excellent programming.
