River Lines | Tracing the Seams of The Colne

Join us for a writing and drawing workshop that traces The River Colne, its meanders and mythologies.

This exploratory morning is designed for intra-disciplinary artists, writers, and thinkers who want to expand the ecological potentials of their creative practice. Following landscape-led approaches in folklore and oral storytelling, we will allow ourselves to be led by the line, weaving between writing, drawing, and intuitive mark-making. As we move along the river, the workshop will introduce and explore methods of more-than-human observation, ecological narrative-making, and creative connection with the landscape. Taking place on Mabon - the autumn equinox and second pagan harvest - this is a special moment for exploring balance, change and flow. 

Starting at The Minories with tea and conversation, the workshop will take place outside, embracing the weather and following the line of The River Colne. We will end back at The Minories for an informal conversation about what discoveries emerged, and for a sharing of books and readings.

Some materials will be provided, please also bring your personal sketchbooks and favourite writing materials. Please let us know in advance if you have any accessibility of physical requirements.
