Creative Darning Demo and Workshop

A hands on workshop where you will learn four basic darning techniques that you can use to give knitted clothing and other household knitted items a new lease of life and a creative edge. Taking inspiration from Hicaru Noguchi “Creative Mending” book, the session will guide you through the goma-shio, basket, honeycomb and tambourine darning stitches.
So bring along a knitted item that needs repair and with the support of Veronica our textile repair volunteer at our Waste Not Hub, use your new found knowledge to darn it, it in a way that works for, and is totally, you. Think socks, tops, hats and blankets.
Needles and thread will be provided, with enough for you to take home what you need to complete your project.
