Creative Conversations: Oluwaseun Olayiwola

Oluwaseun (Seun) Olayiwola is a poet, critic, choreographer and performer based in London. His poems have been published and anthologized in: The Guardian, The Poetry Review, PN Review, Oxford Poetry, TATE, bath magg, 14poems, Re:creation, and Queerlings. As a Ledbury Poetry Critic, he’s written reviews for the Guardian, the Telegraph, the Times Literary Supplement, the Poetry School, Magma, Poetry Birmingham, and the Poetry Book Society. His poetry has been commissioned by the Royal Society of Literature and Spread the Word. His debut poetry collection is forthcoming from Fitzcarraldo Editions.

His choreographic work has been commissioned by Ledbury Poetry Festival, Southwark Council, Studio 3 Arts. His work has been presented at The Place, The Central School of Ballet, and Studio Voltaire. In 2022, he became an associate artist at Swindon Dance. Seun has a MFA in Choreography from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where he was a Fulbright Scholar in 2018-2019. He received a distinction and Highest Achievement Prize for his thesis Searching for Something Else: On Choreography and Poetics. He is currently a lecturer (dance) in the Kingston School of Art.
