A special chance to create materials in a working museum of print that has functioned for 200 years and continues production today. You will learn about letterpress methods, both past and present, as well as having your own chance to set type, ink up and print a 8 page zine/ poster to take home.

All Consuming - working together to avoid getting eaten up.

In these sessions we will take our learned tactics for survival within the cost of living crisis and share them to make content for newsletters and open ended forms of printed matter to letterpress at Glasgow Press. Taking as a starting point Lisette's own newsletter All Consuming and looking at the history of independent publishing as ways to share survival tips through alternative networks, we will take the things we do to save money or cut a corner and shine a light on them. These things we might often hide because we are told penny pinching brings shame. These things which might seem small, to others could be the difference between paying a bill and not.

To be able to progress through the course, you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. Please note that we would like this course to prioritise those who might not usually have financial access to these types of studio courses, so please consider this while booking.
If you have any questions, please get in touch at [email protected]

CW: In these sessions there are potentials to discuss topics relating to financial insecurity, for example food scarcity and precarious living.
