About this Event
Three one-week camps for incoming grades Early Pre-K through 7th:
Week 1: June 2-6, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cost: $250
Week 2: June 9-13, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cost: $250
Week 3: June 16-20, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cost: $250
Lunch is held from 11:30- 12:30. Campers must bring a lunch and water bottle each day.
Dress is cool, casual and conservative. Sports and games requires socks and sneakers.
Camp t-shirts are available for purchase but are not required. ____________________________________________________________________
Early Pre-K: Busy Bee Experiences
Students entering Early Pre-K at CES will enjoy a daily schedule of arts and crafts as well as music and movement. We will enjoy opportunities for outdoor play balanced with periods of inside calming quiet time. The limited number allows us to help these young children transition to a camp experience while maintaining a routine, activities, snack, and lunch time on a schedule that is just our pace! Campers must be potty trained. (Limit 12)

Pre-K – 1st Grade (Child must be turning 4 by the start of camp, for early Pre-K see above)
Students entering Pre-K through 1st grade will have a daily schedule of thematic activities that foster creativity, active learning, and exploration. Some of the activities include art, science, music, fun and games, canoeing, and water days. Themes will vary from week to week for those campers that are attending more than one week.

Grades 2 - 4
Students entering 2nd-4th grades will choose one grade-appropriate morning session and one afternoon session. Activities in each session will vary week-to-week for those students attending more than one week. Fourth graders may choose activites in the younger group (2nd-4th) or older group (4th-7th).
Art - rageous! (Grades 2-4) Join us for an exciting and immersive summer of creativity where we will use various mixed media to explore the world of visual art! Students will have the opportunity to learn about color, various drawing styles and create projects inspired by Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh and more! They will also bring their ideas off the page into 3 dimensional pieces using everything from wire to paper maché! It will be an adventure of the imagination! (Class size is limited to 15.)
Chess (mixed ages, grades 3-7, morning only) Campers will learn the values of good sportsmanship, patience and problem solving while playing the wonderful game of chess. They will be introduced to opening theory, endgame strategy, and checkmate patterns. There will also be a tournament at the end of the week with prizes available! (Class size limited to 15).
Mish Mash (Grades 2-4) Do you like to try new things? Activities in this session will vary day-to-day, from making homemade ice cream and waffles to constructing catapults, from origami to paper airplanes. Learn new games and skills, and make delicious treats. (Class size is limited to 15.)
Music (mixed ages, grades 2-7, afternoon only) Campers will develop confidence, creativity, teamwork and communication skills while being introduced to Afro-Cuban, Afro-Brazilian and New Orleans rhythms. Campers will learn these rhythms primarily on hand drums and percussion but will also be introduced to concepts on guitar and piano. This class is taught by CES Music Teacher Mr. Cedar Howard. (Class size is limited to 15.)
Robotics (Grades 2-4, afternoon only) Campers will learn to build their own robots using Legos, gears, wheels, tires, electric motors, sensors, micro-switches, electrical cables, and much, much more. Campers will then learn to program their robots to become fully functional. (Class size is limited to 15.)
Sports and Games (Grades 2-4) Campers will discover new interests and talents as they participate in games with team and individual sports. The emphasis will be on improving skills, getting exercise, and having fun. There will be canoeing, hockey, soccer, basketball, dodge ball, rope climbing, and many more sports oriented activities. Come join us and be prepared to get your heart pumping! (Class size is limited to 20.)
Wacky Science (Grades 2-4, morning only) Campers will learn how to be young scientists by exploring science in interactive and creative ways. We will engage in fun and craft-like science activities and experiments. (Class size is limited to 15.)

Stop-motion Animation (grades 4 -7, afternoon only) This animation technique is used to make a physically manipulated object to appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence. Students will develop their own storyboard and choose materials to create their own animated film. (Class size is limited to 15.)
