🌿 The Creative Canopy
A Curated Education Retreat by Forest Fusion
Join Lyndsey, founder of Forest Fusion, forest school leader and former teacher, for a thoughtfully curated family learning retreat designed for families seeking a slower, richer, and more meaningful educational experience.
Set within the peaceful surroundings of Fintry Trust, Church Lane, GU8 5UQ, on 23rd July 2026 from 10:00am, The Creative Canopy invites families to step away from hurried routines and reconnect through nature, creativity, curiosity, and shared experience.
Blending outdoor learning, artistic exploration, gentle academic provocations, and well-being practices, this carefully designed retreat offers children the freedom to engage deeply, think independently, and learn in ways that feel both natural and inspiring.
Throughout the morning, families will be invited to experience a selection of seasonal and nature-led activities, which may include:
-botanical dye-making and leaf bashing
-clay artistry inspired by the natural world
-introductory whittling and bushcraft skills
-weaving creations
-artist inspired exploration and creations
-fire-lighting experiences
-sensory journals
-bird/tree/cloud spotting
-creative mathematical and literary provocations woven thoughtfully through the environment
The retreat will conclude with a calming family sound bath — a restorative closing experience designed to support regulation, reflection, and connection. All adults are solely responsible for their dependents throughout the day.
Hot drinks, thoughtful touches, and a welcoming atmosphere remain at the heart of the experience, creating space not only for children to flourish, but for families to connect with like-minded others within the home education community.
